Dr. Shinhar treats a variety of diseases and abnormalities concerning the ears, nose, throat, head and neck areas in children. These include problems such as tonsil and adenoid disease, recurrent sore throats, obstruction of breathing during sleep, ear infections, chronic ear disease, hearing loss of different kinds, tumors, masses, and abnormalities of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck areas, and sinus disease including chronic sinusitis and nose allergies.As a pediatric ENT surgeon, Dr. Shinhar also specializes in laryngology and bronchoesophagology, which are diseases of the larynx (the voice box and the swallowing tube). Dr. Shinhar treats breathing and swallowing disorders as well as congenital or acquired problems of the larynx, trachea, bronchi, and esophagus. Dr. Shinhar treats children with recurrent croup, cough, stridor, noisy breathing, hoarseness, and other voice problems. Dr. Shinhar can provide a variety of therapies including the carbon dioxide laser for endoscopic treatment of airway problems as well as a foreign body removal.
Dr. Shinhar diagnoses and manages ear-related problems including congenital and acquired hearing loss, middle ear fluid, cholesteatoma which is a chronic ear disease, tympanic membrane perforation, congenital malformations of the middle ear and ear canal, and facial nerve and imbalance problems. He also assists children with speech, language, and swallowing delays and diseases, and helps the evaluation of speech and language therapy.
